The "theoretically" peaceful demonstration of May 1, which celebrates the work around the world was spoiled by the irruption of 1200 armed individuals, and masks, weapons for some, in the district of Bastille and Austerlitz. This excess of violence shocked not only public opinion but also the organisers, including the trade unions, on the march of May 1, which was "turned towards anti-capitalist and anti-capitalist denunciations until the extreme free violence". The breakers, burned cars stolen from the Mercedes dealer shop, and attacked the symbols of "capitalism" including Mac Donalds, Fast Food, totally ransacked by breaking the windows and looting the victuals. Of the 289 persons arrested by the police force, 109 were held in police custody, and some of them were even minors. A third of them were women.
