USPA NEWS - Edouard Philippe, French Prime Minister, alongside with Ms Agnes Buzyn, Minister of Solidarities and Health, launched the 8th Strategic Council of Health Industries on July 10th at Hotel Matignon (Prime Ministry). Thirty major Pharmaceutical leaders and Health Industry, were invited for an official diner at Elysee Palace by the French President Emmanuel Macron, at 8:30 pm on Monday 9th of July. Frederique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Delphine Geny Stepahnn, Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy and Finance will bring together the 8th Strategic Council of Health Industries (SCHI) The Strategic Council of Health Industries is the forum for dialogue between industrialists of the sector and the public authorities. It brings together this year many leaders of international companies of the health sector as well as all the French actors of this sector.

On the occasion of the first CSIS of the five-year period, the Prime Minister will present strong measures to guarantee rapid access to innovation for patients, support the research dynamic and increase the attractiveness of France in the health industries sector. These are the four main workshops to be discussed at this occasion chaired by four French Ministers, as far as the Health Industry is concerned, tackling issues and how France can better its French Health system, via innovative solutions and MedTech proposals. THEMATIC WORKSHOPS: 1. France, is one of the most successful health systems in the world: How is the health system transforming to meet new challenges? Workshop chaired by Agnès Buzyn, Minister of Solidarities and Health 2. The recognized excellence of French research and training in health: how to develop your cooperation with French research and where to find your future talents? Workshop chaired by Frederique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation 3. Very innovative French Medtech and biotech sectors and 100% mobilized on the challenges of the future: how does France intend to promote innovations in health? Workshop chaired by Delphine Geny Stephann, Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy and Finance 4. France, a country in the heart of Europe, ideal to develop and export: why settle in France and why export from France? Workshop chaired by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

THE PRESS DISCUSSED WITH THE PRESIDENCY AND PM´s ADVISORS DURING A BRIEFFING AT MATIGNON A press briefing was held today at Hotel Matignon, in the presence of four Presidents Macron´s advisors and PM Philippe counsellors, for Health sector, before an audience of journalists, in preparation to the 8th Strategic Council of Health Industries (SCHI). Alexis Zajdenweber, Economic, Finance and Industry Adviser in the Office of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Miquel, corporate advisor, attractiveness and export to the office of the President of the Republic, Marie Fontanel, Solidarity and Health Advisor in the Office of the President of the French Republic (Not present) Guillaume Couillard, health technical adviser in the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Jonathan Nussbaumer, technical adviser for industry, trade and crafts in the office of the President of the Republic and PM. Emmanuel Miquel, corporate consultant, attractiveness and export to the office of the President of the Republic, explains the context of the pharmaceutical leaders invited by the President of the Republic and their commitment, within the framework of this Strategic Council of Health Industries: "The sites of Biotech production and within the industrial fabric that has decreased on products with chemical maturity will be strengthened in particular for gene therapy, as well as the biotechnological production site that is planned in Lyon. Regarding the reception, dinner, offered by the President of the Republic Monday evening at 20:30 at the Elysée, it is the largest pharmaceutical health groups in the world will be the guests. At the end of this reception, industrial commitments will be made. We need relays as part of this sequence, including the investment of € 80 million from GSK, in Evreux, as a first step of the total investment of € 300 million "
