INTRODUCING ALLOCUTION OF FRENCH MINISTER OF CULTURE FELUR PELLERIN---------------------------------- “Thank you to you for coming this morning as many for this press conference devoted to this new edition of the European Days of heritage. These days, it is to be welcomed, is a very popular event. The next weekend, a French five will visit one of the 17 000 places open to the public, as in Overseas Metropolis. There is in France NO ONE else cultural event of such magnitude. Its success testifies course of a deep commitment of the nation to its monuments and gardens: the French love their heritage. But it reflects, more fundamentally, a growing desire shared by all: this is a time when those who sometimes feel illegitimate in cultural places merge with those who are regulars museums or treaters. To reduce this feeling of illegitimacy, you know, is one of the major ambitions of my mandate. In this area, the Heritage Days are a success, a case study of our company democratisation by culture, I want to expand more and more.Thank you to our European partners, now associated with it. Thank you to public and private partners, media partners, which give these two days the repercussions and the extent they deserve.“ These days of course have the scent of mystery as you cross thresholds that we usually are closed. Fleur Pellerin, French Minister of Culture said.

MOST VISITED SPOTS BY FRENCH IN A WEEKEND OF HERITAGE DAYS They probably think first to the Palace of the Republic. But it is these private houses, these hidden gardens, these industrial buildings or castles less known that I am referring. Botanical Conservatory in Brest Central Bus RATP Lagny, through the Tourville Battery Greville-Hague in the English Channel, or the Rayon Vert Hotel Belvedere to Cerberus, in the eastern Pyrenees, they are places in front which our citizens may spend every day who suddenly discover. Their openness proves to everyone that the heritage of our country is alive. He has not a past, he is not a witness of the past, but has instead a present.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This far, the first has the heritage to all those who care. I refer to those that restore, maintain, defend, animate, highlight the historical monuments like the buildings of patrimonial interest and open to the public. Representatives of heritage protection associations are here with us this morning: we must greet them and thank them. The Minister Pellerin said.

FRENCH MONUMENTS ATTESTING OF KNOW-HOW AND TESTIFY OF THOSE WHO LIVE AND WORK THERE This present, heritage also entitled to all those who work to make him all the glory it deserves. I am thinking, in particular, to the companions, artisans and art masters. Their extraordinary expertise makes us proud; it is recognised worldwide. The French have the opportunity to discover the recently restored in many monuments, such as the stained glass windows and portals of the Basilica of Saint-Denis, which will be inaugurated this week in workshops or practical pendant ticks both days. This far, the heritage must finally to all those who live, work there, make it the place of their activity. These places are beautiful, they carry with them the memory of past activities; but because they are beautiful, does it take to depriving the present activities? These are common questions among lovers and preservationists. They are legitimate. My belief is that we should not refrain from thinking about the transformation of the use of heritage buildings - and to implement an activity, profitable or not, public or private. Even more so if we wish abandoned monuments, dormant, found life or restore life to the territory that houses them. We will launch elsewhere soon, the Foundation of the heritage, an initiative on this.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The success stories are numerous: it is for example, the highly successful transformation of the Manufacture of Matches Aubervilliers henceforth that welcomes students restorers of the National Heritage Institute. To say that the heritage has a present, it is also evoke the time when the frame is built, where the architectural gesture is emerging where the future is built. This is the meaning of the theme we have chosen for this edition of the Days, "the heritage of the XXI century, a future history."Heritage has long been opposed to contemporary architecture, manufacturer a sort of perpetual quarrel between the ancients and moderns. Is the time spent distinguishes wealth creation? And if so, how old does it have to be part of the heritage?

THE FRENCH MINISTER OF CULTURE EVOKES GREAT ARTISTS OF THE 20TH CENTURY For the Ministry, this issue is not new. Malraux was the first arose with Le Corbusier, whom he protected works, even during the life of the architect. We have also a twentieth century label that distinguishes recent major buildings. It will come out strengthened with the law. But beyond that, my belief is that we must try to look at the present with an eye to the future: between creation and heritage, there is a continuum. This is the best way to promote one or the other. That is the spirit of the European Days of Heritage, the spirit of the law that I will present to Parliament at the end of the month, and the spirit of the National Strategy for Architecture that I wanted to commit my arrival street Valois.----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The vitality of architecture in France today no doubt. And its place in the legacy we bequeath to our children tomorrow is preparing soon to-day. The challenge goes far beyond the great architectural gestures and monumental buildings. The everyday surroundings also important. I would add that the architects themselves transform and reinvent a part of our heritage today.Whether big names and young professionals - particularly the young winners Albums architecture and landscape, AJAP - the architects are at the heart of my attention. I want to both improve their exercise and publicise their work, and ensure that we look differently the construction of the space around us.

THE FRENCH HERITAGE ALSO INVOLVED IN THE COP21 BY USING ENERGETIC PERFORMANCE---------------- By visiting the creation of today, so visit the French heritage of tomorrow. One of his characteristics, the one that will grab undoubtedly the generations that will follow us is the desire to build sustainable, to ensure the energy performance of buildings - the criteria we wanted to highlight a few months the COP21.---------------------------------------------------------------- I will go for my part in the ZAC Paris Rive Gauche, which is a fine example of this ambition we have for the city today, and this continuum between creation and heritage I mentioned: the creations of architects mingle the traces of this industrial heritage in this area of “‹“‹the 13th arrondissement is the depositary.------------------------------------------------------------------------- In presenting to MPs the bill for areas saved in 1962, Malraux said: "in our civilisation, the future is not opposed to the past: it resurrects. "I would say today that the reinvented in every sense of the term, that is to say, he rediscovers and creates both for posterity. I thank you. Fleur Pellerin concluded.
