The Legendary & Guardian Angel of the Poor Orphan & Destitute Children Zamurrad Khan to Visit UK
For many individuals, entering politics is seen as a career path shaped by personal ambition, financial security and public recognition for themselves and their families. After years in political office and ministerial roles, retirement often brings a sense that life’s major responsibilities have been fulfilled. Children have grown up and left home, finances are stable, and the motivation to strive further appears to fade. For such retired politicians, daily life frequently revolves around social Islamabad/ Punjab clubs, gymkhanas and attending events where comfort replaces purpose, said Shazada Hayat President UICF (UK) and international community welfare campaigner.
However, there are rare individuals who choose a very different road after leaving politics and retirement. For this unique group, retirement is not an end, but the true beginning of meaningful service. Freed from the demands of public office, they turn wholeheartedly toward serving humanity and seeking the pleasure of ALLAH ( SWT ).

They understand that fame and political power are temporary, while sincere devotion to humanity leaves a permanent mark. For them, real success lies in humility, compassion and selfless action. Zamurrad Khan Hilal-e-Imtiaz, founder of Sweet Home for poor orphan children of Pakistan stands out head and shoulders as one such individual.
After a distinguished political career, he dedicated his life to humanitarian service, a commitment that has continued for more than two decades. Rather than settling into a comfortable retirement, Zamurrad Khan focused his energy on supporting the most vulnerable members of society: orphaned and destitute children across Pakistan who had been abandoned and left to survive on the streets. Over the past 20 years, his welfare work has transformed the lives of thousands of children.
These children, once exposed to hunger, illness, exploitation and abuse, were given safety and care at a time when they had no one else to rely on. Through sustained charitable efforts, they received food, shelter and clothing, but Zamurrad Khan’s vision extended far beyond meeting basic needs. He pioneered specialised education programmes designed to restore dignity, confidence and hope, enabling children once considered lost to society to imagine a future filled with possibility,

Those involved in these initiatives say Zamurrad Khan treats every child as a valued citizen of Pakistan. He repeatedly assures them that they are not forgotten, that the nation and its people stand by them, and that they deserve compassion, protection and opportunity. For many children, Zamurrad Khan has become both guardian and guide, leading them out of despair and into a life of structure and purpose. Supporters believe that without his intervention and Sweet Homes, many of these children would have died from illness or suffered lifelong physical and emotional trauma.
Shazada Hayat went on to say, Islamic teachings place great emphasis on the care of orphans, and religious Islamic scholars often recall the saying of the Prophet Muhammad ?, that whoever supports an orphan will stand close to him on the Day of Judgement. Zamurrad Khan supports not one or two, but thousands of orphaned children, he lives by this teaching in its truest sense. Zamurrad Khan is described as a true dervish and guardian angel of the orphan destitute homeless children, who is detached from worldly reward and driven purely by faith and service.
