USPA NEWS - ARCO had hosted lunch # FundacionARCO Platform, a gathering of collectors, experts and art lovers for the purchase of new works for the ARCO Foundation Collection. The works chosen were Intento de Conservación III -2015-, by Carlos Bunga, Elba Benítez Gallery.
Of the nine works pre selected by the advisors of the # FundaciónARCO, director, Ferran Barenblit -CA2M, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo de Móstoles, Madrid-, Miguel von Hafe -director of the Galician Center for Contemporary Art, Santiago de Compostela- and Angela Maria Perez Mejia -Cultural Subgerente Bank of the Republic of Colombia-, the 140 participants at lunch have selected this piece, which will become part of the funds of the #FundaciónARCO, along with other works that are acquired this year's fair, as is customary.
The #FundaciónARCO began in 1987 a collection of works acquired during the Fair with the aim of contributing to the development and promotion of national and international contemporary art and an example for other institutions at the time of purchase works in ARCOmadrid. For this, the collection #FundaciónARCO, today with about 300 pieces, has relied on the advice of many professionals worldwide as Edy de Wilde; Gloria Moure; Jan Debbaut; Dan Cameron; Iwona Blazwick; Maria de Corral; Chus Martínez; Sabine Brietwiesser; Jose Guirao; Miguel von Hafe; Ferran Barenblit; Gloria Picazo; Yolanda Romero and Taru Elfving.
