USPA NEWS - The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London honours stars of the national football team present in the United Kingdom
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London hosted an honouring ceremony for a number of stars of the Iraqi national football team currently in the United Kingdom, namely the players Ali Al-Hamadi and Zidane Iqbal, as well as the National Team Media Director, Salam Al-Manasir.
The ceremony commenced with the Iraqi national anthem, in an atmosphere reflecting a strong sense of belonging and national pride.
His Excellency the Ambassador delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he affirmed that what has been achieved constitutes a historic and significant accomplishment. He praised the resilience of the Iraqi people, which has enabled the players and the supporting staff to overcome challenges and reach the FIFA World Cup finals.
He also noted that the success stories embodied by players based in the United Kingdom serve as an important source of inspiration for their generation, encouraging them to strive for excellence while maintaining their connection to, and love for, their nation, reflecting a mutual bond of pride and affection with the Iraqi people.
The Ambassador further expressed his hope that Iraqi youth will follow these successful examples, becoming success stories in their own right and contributing to the service of their country and the achievement of further accomplishments.
The players and their families expressed their gratitude for this recognition, affirming their deep pride in their Iraqi identity and their commitment to representing Iraq in the best possible manner.
