From the Orsay Museum to Pont de l´Alma : 2.3 km for walking and leisure activities on the Berges de Seine. Nature, sport and culture : since the summer of 2013, the new Berges de Seine offer free leisure activities and amenities for Parisians and visitors. This issue was part of the Press Conference given by Anne HIDALGO, Mayor of PARIS with Ségolène ROYAL on November 4, 2016 at the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Sea, in PARIS.

Spanning 2.3 kilometres and covering 4.5 hectares, the promenade has sport and leisure activities for children and adults, as well as places to relax; all areas are freely accessible. Sustainable development has also been a major factor in the design of the promenade. There is plenty of greenery and places to relax on the Berges. Already on the Unesco list of world heritage sites, the Seine quays now boast a new landmark promenade.
On October 20, 2016, was announced by the City Hall of PARIS, the lauch of a call for project called 'Reinventing the Seine' having already 174 candidates. The project has the aim to answer the need of : inventing new ways of living, working, moving on water or on water's edge. Those candidates have officially filed for a first selection. Architects, startups, associations, artists, operators,.. All answered the call made by metropoles of Paris, Rouen, Le Havre et Haropa-Ports de Paris Seine Normandie.
Their proposals consist to occupy, animate, rent or buy one of the sites proposed to develop an innovative project. The 174 projects will be analyzed on November-December 2016 by juries composed by elected representatives of owners communities, partners of the project and associates experts. For each site, 3 to 4 candidates will be authorized to carry on the competition by making a final offer. The announce of the final candidates will be just before Christmas.
