USPA NEWS - Love and Intrigue an acclaimed tragedy, written, by Friedrich Schiller -- German poet and playwright of the 18th - 19th centuries. and adapted by Lev Dodin - the Artistic Director of the Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg, Russia, is currently on the show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Harvey Theatre. Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg is currently regarded as one of the best Russian theaters and earned a worldwide respect for its performances. The theater's troop plays the eternal Schieler's play at the BAM from June 6th to June 16th, 2018 included. The stage design is done by Alexander Borovsky, the lighting design -- by Damir Ismagilov. The Music in the performance -- by Ludwig Van Beethoven, additional texts -- by Jean-Jaques Russo and Otto von Bismark. Translation from German into Russian -- by Nikolay Liubimov.

The Love and Intrigue explore and touches darkest and brightest sides of the human nature. It is reminiscent, to some extent, to the Shakespeare's masterpiece Romeo and Juliet. Strict and elaborate design of the stage, with white and black predominant colors, highlight the struggle of opposite forces in human nature. Brilliant actors' performance delivers to the audience the authors' ideas with emotional and non-emotional nuances. Well known actresses and actrors, such as Elizaveta Boyarskaya (Luise Miller), Ksenya Rappoport (Lady Milford), Tatiana Shestakova (Mrs. Miller), Igor Ivanov ( President Von Walter), Danila Kozlovsky (Ferdinand Von Walter), Igor Chernevich (Wurm, President´s secretary), Sergey Kuryshev (Miller, Music teacher) are starring in the play.
