USPA NEWS - Many Unique Events are happening this Week (Week of august 18 to 24, 2017) to celebrate Montreal ! On Wednesday, the Jeux de la rue will end on a high note at Jarry Park with the Soccer and Basketball Playoff Games, Many Tournaments and plenty of exciting Activities for Kids to celebrate on the move....
Many Unique Events are happening this Week (Week of august 18 to 24, 2017) to celebrate Montreal ! On Wednesday, the Jeux de la rue will end on a high note at Jarry Park with the Soccer and Basketball Playoff Games, Many Tournaments and plenty of exciting Activities for Kids to celebrate on the move. Present throughout the day will be Jay du Temple, Adib Alkhalidey, Kevin Raphaël, Simon Leclerc, Elie Duquet, Alouettes players Nicolas Boulay and Jean-Christophe Beaulieu as well as the Event's Spokesman Andy Mailly-Pressoir. On Saturday Evening, Montréal Symphonique at the Foot of the Mount Royal. The Orchestre Métropolitain, the McGill Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal as well as Alain Lefèbvre, Coeur de Pirate, DJ Champion, Elisapie, ILAM, Isabelle Boulay, Marie-Josée Lord, Mélissa Lavergne, M-Mo, Patrick Watson and Pierre Lapointe performing together for the First Time !...

* Montreal au Feminin : The great Ladies - their Stories in Music

SOBAM invites you to take a Musical Voyage and meet great Women who left their mark in Montreal's History. Through the integration of a Variety of Musical Genres, this Original Production explores their Lives and Contributions though Singing, Theatre, Dance and Multimedia. In collaboration with Community Amateurs, a Troupe of Professional Artists guide you through a Unique and Interactive Experience ! (August 12th - parc Marcel-Léger)

* Hymne à l'Arrondissement de Rivière-des-Prairies - Pointe-aux-Trembles

The Anthem representing the East-End Borough of Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles will be unveiled to the Public on two occasions by the Centre Multimedia de l'Est de Montréal (Coop de solidarité). (August 12th - Parc Marcel-Léger de Pointe-aux-Trembles & August 26th - Parc Armand-Bombardier de Rivière-des-Prairies)

* Les Jeux de la Rue Celebrates Montréal !
* Designed for the 12-to-24 Age Group, Les Jeux de la Rue is all about Sports. This year, it's taking place on August 16 at Jarry Park! A Mega-event organized for the Grand Finales of the Jeux de la rue, where you can take part in a Million and One activities (or just about). (August 16th from 9am to 11 pm - Jarry Park)

* Chantez Montréal, chantez Anjou

SING MONTREAL, SING ANJOU is an Activity for the Whole Family, both Young and Old, and is split up into Three Parts. The first features a Series of Kiosks operated by Local Community Actors from around Angevin that offers up fun for all ages. The second highlights the Musical and Artistic Talents of some of Angevins' Residents and is a great opportunity to discover and support the quality of this Community. (August 17th - Place Anjou)
* Tricotés serrés

As part of this Project, the Immigrant Committee will collaborate with Ève-Marie Langevin, Artist-performer and 'The people's knitter' to create Cultural Exchange Workshops around a Collective Knitting Project. During the Project, Themes of Living Together and Intercultural Rapprochement will be discussed. The sections of the Collective Knitting Project will be assembled in Saint Laurent's Public Square (to be inaugurated in August 2017) and will thus serve as an element of Public Decoration. The Population. (August 17th - Place publique de Saint-Laurent, corner of Décarie and Édouard-Laurin)
* Montréal Symphonique

A Major New Public Concert at the Foot of Mount Royal. For Montréal's 375th and Canada's 150th, the Three Major Montréal Orchestras' the McGill Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Métropolitain and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal will be coming together to celebrate this Historic Moment at the Foot of the Iconic Mount Royal. This Concept Show, created and produced by GSI Musique and Directed by Simon Leclerc, will feature more than 400 Musicians, Pop Artists and Choral Singers who promise to dazzle our eyes and ears and make our Spirits soar. (August 19th, 2017 - Mount Royal, East side)
* Zoom sur les Communautés Culturelles

Every Night for seven days between August 21 and 27, 2017, Sir Cavelier-De LaSalle will explore a Moment in History that covers the Waves of Immigration in Montreal. The Henri-Lemieux Cultural Centre and Sir Cavelier-De LaSalle will welcome a different Community that has marked the History of LaSalle each night. The program includes Film Screenings, Shared Dinners between neighbors as well as Expositions. (August 21st to 27th - Théâtre du Grand Sault du centre Henri-Lemieux)

- REP NDG

* REP NDG's aim is to feature Intergenerational Relationships and Perspectives from Youth, seniors and the Business Community through Song Creation, Music Video Production, Photography, and Documentary Style Film Making. In short, an Arts focus on the common living experience in N.D.G. (August 21st to 27th - Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi Notre-Dame-de-Grâce)
* Camillien Houde, 'le p'tit gars de Sainte-Marie'

A fascinating figure of Municipal and Provincial Politics, Camillien Houde stayed the course through Major Changes and upheavals that shaped the 20th Century. In this Show, which mobilizes the Citizens of Centre-Sud, Espace Libre and the Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental will recount the Story of this Working-class Mayor to give the Audience a feel for the History of this Neighbourhood and the City. (August 22nd to September 2nd, 2017 - Espace Libre)

Part of the Official Program Marking Montréal's 375th Anniversary, Canada's Preeminent Hub of Electronic Music and Digital Creativity turns 18, taking the occasion to change its Dates, expand its Program and refresh its commitment to Live Performance at the intersection of Music, Visual art and Technology. (August 22th to 27th - Mutek)
* Sur les traces d'Anjou

The Project Sur les Traces d'Anjou of OSA aims to highlight the Dynamism of Anjou and place it at the Heart of Montreal's Evolution. To do so, Photos from Community Organizations, Institutions and Citizens will be collected to build a Mosaic that will exposed at the Place des Angevins (a Public Space in front of the City Hall) Wednesday August 23rd 2017 from 2pm to 10pm. Furthermore, a Festival will be held so that Residents of all Ages and Backgrounds can gather together to celebrate. (August 23rd - 7701, boulevard Louis-H.-La Fontaine, Anjou)
* NomadFest : Plongez dans l'Univers des Cowboys et de la Musique Country

NomadFest : Dive into the World of Cowboys and Country Music in the Heart of the city. The Jacques Cartier Pier will become the Hitching Post for the First Edition of NomadFest Rodeo Urbain from August 24 to 27, 2017. For Four Days Straight, Cowboys and Cowgirls can enjoy a Brand-new immersive Country Experience. (August 24th to 27th, 2017 - Old Port - Quai Jacques-Cartier)
