USPA NEWS - Franco Morbidelli: Pilot Team EG 0,0 Marc VDS in this season Moto2 2017 was great. He has never failed anything has always been concrete and fast and today he is in charge of the Moto2 ranking. Franco Morbidelli (born 4 December 1994 in Rome) is an Italian motorcycle racer. He was the European Superstock 600 champion in 2013. Despite the common misconception, he is not related to Giancarlo Morbidelli, manufacturer of the famed Morbidelli Grand Prix racing bikes, or his son, former Italian F1 driver Gianni Morbidelli. Morbidelli's father is Italian, but his mother is Brazilian.Livio Morbidelli's son, also a motorcycle rider, debuts in the European Superstock 600 championship in 2011, running four races on a Yamaha YZF-R6 of the Forwards Racing Jr team. In 2012, he is sixth in the same category and in 2013 he says champion European with a Kawasaki ZX-6R from San Carlo Team Italia. Also in 2013, the Grand Prix of San Marino, Japan and the Valencian Community on the Suter MMX2 of the Gresini Racing team runs in the Moto2 Moto2 class. The following year, with the same team and teammate in 2016, Morbidelli started the season with three wins in the same Grand Prix races (Qatar, Argentina, Austin), becoming the first driver to win the first three season races in Intermediate class since 2001 when Daijirō Katō won the first four in the then 250cc class
